Empowering you to realize your career objectives is our priority. Strategic Hospitality Search has demonstrated a unique ability to match talented hospitality professionals perfectly with client cultures to optimize creativity and productivity.

 

Our Guidelines

We adhere to the following policies and principles and we expect our candidates to comply as well:

  • Mutual respect, honesty, and timely communication throughout our relationship.
  • For candidates, our services are complimentary.
  • Your credentials remain confidential in our secure files until you agree to be presented to our clients.
  • You are expected to provide a professional resume and we request that you complete our Survey.
  • We require three to five professional references, at least two of whom were/are your immediate managers in your most prior two positions.
  • Understand that many of our clients expect to complete one or more of the following pre-employment activities: criminal record, drug screen, consumer credit, behavioral profile, aptitude profile, and driving record.
  • We do our best to open as many doors as we can for you but we cannot guarantee that an opening will exist within our portfolio of clients.
  • After we present you, the decision to interview is left to our clients.
  • During the interview and negation processes, we mutually-agree to return each others’ calls with urgency.
  • When presented to our clients, we expect you to be motivated and require that you read and acknowledge our Counter-offer Policy.
  • We will discuss all of the pertinent factors surrounding your transition, and expect you to honor the information you provided to us so that there are no surprises as the placement process progresses.
  • Your candidate and employer referrals are appreciated.
  • Update your resume and personal information whenever necessary.
  • Read and forward THE MATCH, our monthly newsletter.

Candidate FAQ’s

What if I don’t want my current employer to know that I am searching?
Your credentials and conversations are treated with the strictest confidence. We always check with you prior to presenting your resume to a client.

I’ve made up my mind to make a change, should I resign now?
No. The placement process can take weeks. Do not put yourself in financial jeopardy. Unless abusive or harmful, remain in your current position until you have a bona fide offer.

Will SHS write my resume?
We will advise you on the fundamentals of a professional resume, but the resume is up to you. (link or jump to Resume Tips)

Why can’t SHS always tell me the name of the client?
Many of our searches are confidential, and our clients understand that your candidacy is confidential as well.

What if I want to relocate?
We are a national company with clients from coast to coast, so we can help with that.

How much does your service cost?
Our services are free to you.

What is your policy on references?
Reference checks are begun prior to presenting you to a client and completed during the interview process. We require three to five professional references, and prefer that to include your superiors from your most recent position.

Do I need a portfolio?
A portfolio is not required but highly recommended for positions where a visual representation of your work is appropriate such as Pastry Chef, Garde Manger, Vice President of Marketing, etc.

There are so many hospitality-specific agencies from which to choose. Why should I choose Strategic Hospitality Search?
Yes, there are several agencies. However, you will be hard-pressed to find an agency with the dedication, commitment, legacy of integrity, resources and service that you will receive working with Strategic Hospitality Search.
